What is an Argument?

In a way, everything is an argument when it comes to academics and themes for fiction. An argument is typically portrayed as gainsay or going “Yes I did.” “No you didn’t.” over and over again like children or as an argument that one might have with another when two people are angry. An argument is stating your opinion, why you have the opinion that you have, and evidence that supports your opinion. To make a good argument, you must have all of these things and you may want to go further and give some counter evidence that shows that this is your opinion and it is not absolute fact. Some arguments are different from each other but this is the general formula. Some scholarly arguments that I have read helped me understand this. I will link them down below.
